Cleaning Your Diamond Engagement Ring at Home

Prepare a clear area that you can clean your jewellery such as the kitchen bench or dining table.  You will need: 2 bowels, a towel to cover your work area, a clean soft tooth brush or artist paint brush, dish soap, and paper towel or tissues,

  1. Fill your bowls with warm water. Ensure that the water is at a comfortable temperature, not too hot or too cold. The warmth helps in loosening oils and dirt on the ring.

  2. Add a few drops of mild dishwashing soap in one of the bowels.

  3. Place your ring in the bowl of warm, soapy water. Ensure that the entire ring is submerged. Allowing it to soak for about 20 minutes helps the mild dishwashing soap to break down oils and dirt that may have accumulated on the diamond's surface.

  4. Gently brush your diamond with a soft brush to remove any dirt and grime.  Also, Be careful to focus on brushing the stone itself and avoid excessive scrubbing on the metal setting to prevent potential scratches.

  5. Rinse off your ring in the second bowel of clean warm water. We recommend you do not rinse over a sink or basin.

  6. Gently dry your ring dry with your paper towel or tissue

  7. Once dry, leave your ring in a safe place to air-dry completely. This step is essential to make sure no moisture is trapped, and the ring is thoroughly dry before putting it back on.
